The problem we researched

Practice-management software shows what was charged. Accounting shows what was spent in total. Neither holds the number that matters, which is what a single procedure costs to deliver, so the fees quietly losing money stay invisible.

What the software does

Maps supplier invoices, chair time, lab fees, equipment and overhead onto every procedure code, flags the fees priced below cost, and models a wage increase or a new machine before anything is signed.

The problem we researched

Board portals solve document storage, which was never the weak point. Governance fails on two other things: directors who arrive underprepared, and information that reaches them wrong or late.

What the software does

Runs governance checks on the package before the meeting, then issues each director a personalized, watermarked brief covering what to decide, what changed and what the risks are, showing only what their role allows. Minutes and resolutions are captured live.

The problem we researched

The clinical method for regulating stress and anxiety works, but it sits behind a waitlist and a clinician’s hour. Families, schools and adults needed the method itself, in a form they could work through without one.

What we build

Software, not apps.

An app is judged on downloads, sessions and time on screen. It wants attention and it is designed to be sticky. That is a legitimate business. It is simply not ours.

MarkR builds software: systems that sit inside how an organization already works, take in real operational data, and hand back a decision someone has to defend to an owner, a board, an accountant, or a parent. The measure isn’t engagement. It is whether the decision was better, earlier, and supportable.

That standard sets everything upstream of the code. It means research before design, because a system that reaches the wrong answer confidently is worse than no system at all. It means working alongside the practice-management, accounting and storage systems already in place, because a number that doesn’t reconcile never gets used. And it means we own the codebase, the data model and the roadmap outright.

Three products, three different industries, one team that researched, designed, built and now runs all of them. The breadth isn’t a scattergun. It is the evidence that the method travels.

Founders

Two founders, two fields, one standard of evidence.

MarkR is founded and run by Raman Kapil and Dr. Meg Kapil. The range of the portfolio comes directly from the range between them, enterprise finance and governance on one side, clinical practice and learning science on the other, and both hold the same line on what counts as evidence before something ships.

Thirty years as CFO, President and CEO across capital-intensive industry and technology. He ran the ERP, MRP and cost systems, closed the books, carried the P&L, and has spent twenty years in the boardroom as a Chartered Director.

That is the source of DentistOpFlow’s costing engine and BGR’s governance model. Each was designed around a gap he lived with himself, then engineered with MarkR’s developers to hold up in a working business rather than a demo.

Dr. Meg Kapil

PhD, Educational Psychology · RCC-ACS · EMDR Consultant

A clinician and researcher whose doctoral work on stress, mental health and academic success was recognized with the BCACC Distinguished Professional Contribution to Applied Research Award and the CCPA Doctoral Dissertation Award. Her practice covers trauma therapy as an EMDR Consultant (IFS-informed EMDR, Deep Brain Reorienting), learning science, and neurodiversity-affirming care for children, youth and adults.

She is the clinical author of The 3A Toolkit, and the reason a MarkR product in a health or education setting is held to a research standard rather than a wellness one.

What happens to customer data?

MarkR products are built so the customer keeps their own record. BGR keeps the board record in your own portal or storage, DentistOpFlow keeps practice data in the practice's own storage, and customer data is never used to train AI.
